Kia ora everyone,
Its a lovely day in Te Tairawhiti today, so whatever you are doing I hope you are making the most of it and enjoying each moment and catching up on some well deserver R & R or carrying on with some work like some of us today.
Here’s another recap of one of last terms event that a lot of you were involved in – the Traditional Dye Wananga with Tina Wirihana and Glenda Hape.
As you were all working hard and concentrating on perfecting those muka whenu you were prepping, I was recording you do it.. lol
I hope you all enjoyed and more so appreciated the skills you were shown over the two week period you spent observing, learning and practicing those techniques with your master mentors who dedicated their time and effort into teaching you.
From what I saw you were all pretty fabulous with your work and ears over that period. I have not seen such a keen and interested group for awhile and I’m pretty sure both Tina and Glenda were stoked with the results. If Weaving is where you want to be or pursue I encourage you to work hard at it because it will take you to a place you never thought possible if you allow yourself to go there – Keep an open mind.. Listen, learn and keep practising – you will be the result of your actions.
Kia kaha ki a koutou katoa
Thanks for tuning in
